Monitoring of road effluents/Assessment of sediment quality

Within the scope of the renovation of motorway A1 between Rheineck and St. Margrethen, the discharged road effluent is monitored and its influence on sediments investigated with various bioassays. On the one hand, the potential pollution of the receiving waters by the road effluent will be determined. Previous measurements have shown that this can vary greatly depending on the location and local conditions. In addition, the effect of the accident basins built during the renovation to retain oil and sediment (especially in the event of an accident) will be investigated.
