"Women in Regulatory Toxicology" article collection published
Together with Marlene Ågerstrand, Anna Beronius and Olwenn Martin, Marion Junghans is the editor of an article collection by "Women in Regulatory Toxicology". Fewer than 30% of the world's researchers are women - an effect that is particularly pronounced in the technical and scientific STEM fields. One reason for this is gender stereotypes and lack of female role models. Therefore, contributions from 23 researchers - including 19 women - are published here, proposing scientific methods and approaches to improve the management and assessment of chemicals. In doing so, these women make an important contribution to the protection of our health and environment. The articles bridge the gap between the development and prioritization of chemicals to the design of testing strategies and the implementation of regulations. They are published open access in the journal Frontiers in Toxicology.
