New database on environmental quality standards

In the assessment of water quality, many countries specify limits for individual substances based on ecotoxicological data — so-called environmental quality standards (EQS). As these can differ considerably from one country to another, the Ecotox Centre has compiled a database of EQS for a large number of pesticides, biocides, pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals. The legal status of EQS also varies, ranging from binding levels for all EU member countries, through proposals issued by national authorities, to ad hoc estimates.
