European EQS experts meet at the Ecotox Centre

The experts on quality criteria from numerous European countries met at the Ecotox Centre on 28 and 29 November 2023 for the Multilateral Meeting - their first face-to-face meeting since the coronavirus pandemic. The aim of these biannual meetings is to discuss current issues relating to the determination of Environmental Quality Standards (EQS). Here, EU member states exchange their experiences and develop joint approaches to define quality criteria for specific environmental contaminants. National interests can also be taken into account for substances that have not been prioritised at EU level.
